Les Landes; Capbreton; Biarritz and PIERKA
Here is another nice place to go to: Capbreton.
Capbreton is situated in Les Landes. Other places nearby are Biarritz, Bayonne and Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
We went there last year (2002). Again to see friends. They promised us that we should have nice weather most of the time and maybe some rain. Also owe should prepare us for the most beautiful big waves in France. We planned our trip end of September 2003. As it happened in a village close by they should be holding the World Championship Surfing. They found us a wonderful place to stay called PIERKA.
Pierka is run by Pierre and Katrien (hence PierKa). The bungalow is well equiped and just accross the road there is a wonderfull beach. They will watch over you and are ever so helpfull.
As it happend we had no waves during our three week stay. Our friend could not beleieve what was happening. He is a writer and he writes about the sea and his big love bodysurfing and had not seen a see as calm as then.
Again a wonderful place to go and be sure to try and book at Pierka. You will not be disapointed.

Château Versailles
Just today (18th of june 2003) I was corresponding with another dear friend of us who lives in France. She was touched that I wrote about us meeting her daughter last time we were in Paris. Al of a sudden I remembered that some years ago (I guess it was about 1990) she invited us for a private party at Château de Versailles. The party was in the honour of the birthday of herself and her daughter.
It was an amazing evening, as you can imagine. I think just a few people were as privileged as we were that evening. People seemed to gaze at us as we just drove up the entrance of the Chateau in our 12 years old SAAB 99. Even more sow as there are no cars allowed.
Anyway, again we had a wonderful evening with music, dance and champagne. Locked in our memorie case for ever.

Paris France ; Splendid Hotel; La Cité des Sciences à Paris.
This weekend of Pentecost 2003 we went to Paris. Paris France of course! Having saved some Airmiles and loving to fly this time we did not go by car. We flew by our national pride KLM.
We stayed in our favorite hotel "Splendid Hotel " at 54, rue Fondary, 75015 Paris. We were not so lucky that we had the room with the view on the Eifel tour.
Three reasons to go there. First one was seeing some of our dear friends.
First evenig in town we went out for dinner with our friends. We had a wonderfull diner at Felini Restorante, 58 rue de la Croix Nivert , 75015 Paris. If you happen to be in the 15 district this is the place to eat. Good food and wine and friendly faces! Phone +0033(0)1 45 77 40 77. (unfortunately no website or e-mail known)
Second reason was seeing the exebition of Treasures of The Titanic (Trésor du Titanic) in the La Cité des Sciences à Paris. in Paris. it was a wonderfull exebition and we had a wonderfull day in the Cité as we wondered around after we saw "the Treasures".
Last reason was the exiting show of many trains on the Champs Elisée. Going back from the first build French train to the newest TGV.
