Visiting friends in Yvré le Pôlin. (2007-08-03 until 2007-08-06)

Some time ago now, with the help of internet, we have managed to re-find a long lost friend. We also were good friend to his eldest daughter and we were invited to spend some time with her and her family in a house they rented for their holidays.
The house they rented is in the village of Yvré le Pôlin. It has 5 bedrooms, a large bathroom, shower, 2 toilets (1 on ground floor and 1 on 1st floor) large kitchen, dining room, a small office and two rooms of which one has a TV and internet access. There is a very large garden that gives view to the meadows with sheep
This magnificent house can be rented for almost any length of time during the holidays. The village of Yvré le Pôlin is situated at 25 kms from Le Mans, known for the “24 hours of Le Mans”.

On the second day of our stay we visited Le Chateau De Lude. This is the northernmost chateau of the Loire valley, situated on the banks of The Loire can be visited with a guide. It was built as a medieval fortress and became a renaissance stately home.

After having toured the chateau we visited “Le Jardin De Petit Bordeaux” in Saint-Biez-en-Belin at some 20 kms south of Le Mans, following the A28 sortie at Economy. This botanic garden can be visited all year round.

We were invited for dinner at The Taj Mahal in Le Mans. Taj Mahal is a small Indian style restaurant with a good choice for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. The service is good and the music is soft so one is able to have a normal conversation. We fortunately did not see a TV screen.

It should be clear we had a wonderful (but to short) stay at this wonderful place and we hope that future visitors will enjoy this region as much as we did.
